Mini Review: Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (PS5) – Fun Slasher Shows Its Age
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (PS5) is like a time machine that takes you back to the glory days of the PS3. Black makes the visuals pop on the PS5. But it was fun.
As the evil Archdemon threatens to destroy the world, it’s time for action. Dragon ninja Ryu Hayabusa thwarts their plans for a revival so he can execute the Black Bee Clan. As you fly from a Russian-inspired city into a Mayan jungle, the game recreates a kitchen that’s not afraid to throw everything at you, including the sink.
At one point, you’ll encounter a ninja fight in a burning village. The exciting part of Violent Adventure is pure cheese.
Sometimes the games look great on the PS5, they remain fluid and play smoothly. No performance issues. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (PS5) some levels, you can see the age of the paint. But elsewhere, especially the atmospheric lighting levels, it’s fantastic.
This hack-and-slash combat is fun when you are executed by cutting off your hand as you start experimenting with different types of weapons.
However, what we like the most is the gameplay. Especially since with so many enemies, our approach did not have to change. It is like a rehearsal for the final phase of the campaign. We played hard and had some tough times, but it was worth it. We managed to complete the campaign and defeat most of the bosses in one or two tries.
However, the most common problem you may encounter is the slow camera speed. It behaves like a tank and easily approaches all enemies multiple times. While there are frustrating moments, even the syndicate system has its moments. there is no need to chase the enemy while others are preparing to attack from behind.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (PS5) Black reminds us of our youth. We are very aggressive. The graphics are great, and at times, without delving into the deep combat system, you wonder what fun it is to play a game that you can enjoy. After all, Ninja Gaye is a game with repetitive gameplay, and the PS3 could be interesting with a cocktail of old-school depression. However, its age was starting to show.
